Edward L. Beach Books in Order

Edward L. Beach, Jr. is a highly-decorated United States Navy submarine officer and acclaimed author. He is a World War II veteran, having participated in the Battle of Midway and 12 combat patrols, earning 10 decorations for gallantry, including the Navy Cross. Beach later served as the naval aide to the President of the United States and commanded the first submerged circumnavigation. As a writer, he followed in the footsteps of his father, a career naval officer and author, publishing his first book, <i>Submarine!</i>, in 1952. This compilation of wartime patrol accounts led to the publication of 13 books, with his first novel, <i>Run Silent, Run Deep</i>, becoming a bestseller in 1955. Adapted into a film starring Clark Gable and Burt Lancaster in 1958, <i>Run Silent, Run Deep</i> cemented Beach's reputation as a master of naval fiction.
