In addition to the Alan Lewrie series, Lambdin is the author of What Lies Buried: a novel of Old Cape Fear. As a self-proclaimed "Navy Brat," Lambdin's early life was marked by extensive travel, with his father serving in the US Navy and stationed in various parts of the world. His father's naval career was cut short when he was killed in action on the USS Bennington CVA-20 in 1954. Lambdin's own academic journey took him to Castle Heights Military Academy, the University of Tennessee, and Montana State University, where he graduated with a degree in Film & TV Production in 1969.
