David Wood Books in Order

David Wood is a renowned playwright and adapter of children's literature. He began writing as a student at Oxford University in the sixties and has since become a leading figure in creating engaging theatre for young audiences. Wood has penned over sixty plays for children, including THE GINGERBREAD MAN, THE OWL AND THE PUSSYCAT WENT TO SEE..., and THE SELFISH SHELLFISH. His stage adaptations of beloved novels, such as Roald Dahl's THE BFG and THE WITCHES, have been performed in long tours and multiple West End seasons. Wood's work has been showcased at the Unicorn Theatre, where his adaptations of TOM'S MIDNIGHT GARDEN and MEG AND MOG SHOW enjoyed great success. He is often referred to as 'the national children's dramatist' and has co-authored the influential book THEATRE FOR CHILDREN: GUIDE TO WRITING, ADAPTING, DIRECTING AND ACTING with Janet Grant.
