David L. Lindsey Books in Order

David L. Lindsey is a Texas-born author known for his captivating mystery fiction. Growing up in the Texas Rio Grande Valley and West Texas, Lindsey developed a unique perspective that would later influence his writing. He graduated from North Texas State University with a degree in English literature, then relocated to Austin in 1970, where he has resided ever since. Lindsey's career in publishing began in the 1970s as a book editor at various small publishing houses, and he even operated his own publishing firm, Heidelberg Publishers. Eventually, he turned to writing, releasing his debut novels, Black Gold, Red Death and A Cold Mind, in 1983. The latter introduced Stuart Haydon, a sophisticated protagonist who appeared in four subsequent novels. Lindsey's subsequent success includes over two million books in print by 1994 and translations into 20 languages by 2004. His 1990 novel, Mercy, was adapted into a film in 2000, solidifying his place in the literary world.
