David Baddiel is a celebrated English comedian, novelist, and television presenter. Born in New York, he moved to England at four months old and grew up in Dollis Hill, Willesden, North London. Baddiel graduated with a double first in English from King's College, Cambridge, and briefly pursued a PhD in English at University College London. He began his career as a cabaret stand-up comedian and wrote for various radio series. Baddiel's television debut came in a small role on Filthy, Rich and Catflap, but it was his partnership with Rob Newman that propelled him to fame. Their work led to the BBC Radio 1 show The Mary Whitehouse Experience, which transferred to television, cementing Baddiel's success. As a novelist, he has written four critically acclaimed books: Time for Bed, Whatever Love Means, The Secret Purposes, and The Death of Eli Gold.
