Daniel Pyne navigates the intersection of prose fiction and screenwriting with ease. As a novelist, he has captivated readers with two critically acclaimed works: Twentynine Palms, a suspenseful thriller praised for its razor-sharp dialogue and heart-pounding action, and A Hole in the Ground Owned by a Liar, a Los Angeles Magazine Critic's Choice selection. His film credits include a remake of The Manchurian Candidate, alongside Pacific Heights, Any Given Sunday, and Fracture. Pyne's television work spans from the influential Miami Vice to the J.J. Abrams-created series Alcatraz. A Stanford University alumnus, he has also earned an MFA from UCLA's Graduate School of Film, where he teaches screenwriting. Pyne divides his time between Los Angeles and Santa Fe with his family and a menagerie of pets.
