Claire Vaye Watkins Books in Order

Claire Vaye Watkins is a critically acclaimed author, born in Bishop, California in 1984. Raised in the Mojave Desert, her unique upbringing has profoundly influenced her writing. A graduate of the University of Nevada Reno, she went on to earn her MFA from Ohio State University, where she was a prestigious Presidential Fellow. Her stories and essays have been featured in prominent publications such as Granta, One Story, The Paris Review, and the New York Times. A recipient of fellowships from the Writers' Conferences at Sewanee and Bread Loaf, her work has garnered widespread recognition. Her debut collection, Battleborn, won numerous prestigious awards, including the Story Prize, the Dylan Thomas Prize, and the New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award. Claire's success has been consistently acknowledged by notable publications, with Battleborn named a best book of 2012 by the San Francisco Chronicle, Boston Globe, and NPR.org. Currently, Claire teaches at Princeton University and co-directs the Mojave School, a free creative writing workshop for teenagers in rural Nevada.
