Chris Van Dusen Books in Order

Chris Van Dusen is a celebrated children's book author and illustrator, best known for his whimsical and humorous storytelling style. Born in Portland, Maine, on St. Patrick's Day, 1960, Van Dusen's artistic talents were evident from an early age, as he spent hours drawing pictures alongside his brothers. Influenced by the works of Dr. Seuss and Robert McCloskey, he went on to study fine art at The University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, graduating with a BFA in 1982. Van Dusen's career as an illustrator began with freelance work, specializing in art for kids, with his illustrations appearing in prominent magazines such as Nickelodeon, Family Fun, and Disney Adventures. His debut children's book, "If I Built a House," was followed by the popular "If I Built a Car" and "If I Built a Castle," showcasing his ability to craft engaging stories and imaginative illustrations.
