Charlie Lovett Books in Order

Charlie Lovett is a writer and collector of rare books and artifacts. Born in Winston-Salem, NC, he spent his formative years surrounded by the English language, as the child of an English professor. Summers were spent in the rural North Carolina mountains, instilling a deep affinity for the countryside. Lovett's educational background includes Summit School, Woodberry Forest School in Virginia, and Davidson College in North Carolina. He entered the antiquarian book business in 1984 with his first wife, Stephanie, and began collecting books and materials related to Lewis Carroll, author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. After transitioning from the book business, Lovett pursued his passion for writing, earning an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts in 1997. His MFA thesis, Love, Ruth, is a poignant exploration of his mother's life and death, praised by Maya Angelou as "tender, sensitive, and true." Lovett's love of English culture led him to live in Kingham, Oxfordshire, for six months, where he and his family made lifelong friends and immersed themselves in the local culture. He now splits his time between the US and the UK, where he continues to write and collect rare books and artifacts.
