Chang-Rae Lee is a distinguished first-generation Korean American novelist. Born in Korea in 1965, Lee emigrated to the United States at a young age, where he was raised in Westchester, New York. He then attended Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire, and went on to earn a BA in English from Yale University and an MFA in Writing from the University of Oregon. Before dedicating himself to writing full time, Lee briefly worked as a Wall Street financial analyst. Currently, he serves as the director of Princeton University's Program in Creative Writing and teaches writing at Princeton, where he guides aspiring writers.
