Catherine Marshall Books in Order

Catherine Marshall is a celebrated author, renowned for her inspiring and thought-provoking writings. Born in Johnson City, Tennessee, she is the daughter of the Reverend John Ambrose Wood and Leonora Whitaker Wood. Raised in Keyser, West Virginia, from the age of nine, Marshall's formative years were deeply influenced by her father's ministry as a Presbyterian pastor. She met her future husband, Peter Marshall, while attending Agnes Scott College, and they married in 1936, relocating to Washington, DC, where he served as pastor of the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church and Chaplain of the United States Senate. After a long battle with tuberculosis, Marshall drew strength from her faith and went on to write a bestselling biography of her husband, A Man Called Peter, which became a nationwide success and was adapted into a film in 1955. Her success propelled her to write or edit over 30 books, selling over 16 million copies, including her inspirational novel, Christy, published in 1967.
