Catherine Jinks is a renowned Australian author of diverse and acclaimed works for all ages. With a career spanning over four decades, she has garnered numerous awards, including three Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Awards, the Victorian Premier’s Award, the Aurealis Award for Science Fiction, the Australian Ibby Award, and the Davitt Award for Crime Fiction. Her writing has been published worldwide, in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Britain, the United States, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Thailand. Born in Brisbane, Queensland, in 1963, Catherine grew up in Papua New Guinea and later in Sydney, where her alma mater, Ku-ring-gai High School, named its library in her honour in 2006. She holds an honours degree in medieval history from the University of Sydney, which she graduated from in 1986. A dedicated writer, Catherine began her full-time writing career in Nova Scotia, Canada, before returning to Australia with her husband and daughter. Currently residing in Leura, NSW, she continues to craft compelling stories that captivate readers worldwide.
