Bernard Knight, CBE, is a renowned author and expert in forensic pathology. Born in 1931, he has had a distinguished career as a Home Office pathologist since 1965 and Professor of Forensic Pathology at the University of Wales College of Medicine since 1980. Knight's writing journey began in the early 1960s, with his first crime novel published in 1963. He has since authored over thirty books, spanning various genres, including contemporary crime fiction, historical novels about Wales, biography, and non-fiction works on forensic medicine. His notable series, the Crowner John Mysteries, delves into 12th-century historical mysteries. In addition to his literary pursuits, Knight has contributed to numerous textbooks, edited medical journals, and written scripts for radio and television dramas and documentaries. He is a respected member of The Medieval Murderers, a group of historical crime-writers within the Crime Writers' Association, and serves as a non-fiction judge for the annual 'Dagger' Awards.
