Attica Locke is a critically acclaimed author and screenwriter whose writing career spans both page and screen. Her debut novel, <i>Black Water Rising</i>, garnered widespread recognition, earning nominations for a 2010 Edgar Award, a 2010 NAACP Image Award, and a Los Angeles Times Book Prize, with a UK Orange Prize shortlisting. Locke's screenwriting credits include notable work for prominent studios and production companies, such as Paramount, Warner Bros, and HBO. Her experience extends to fellowships at prestigious institutions, including the Sundance Institute’s Feature Filmmakers Lab. A graduate of Northwestern University and native of Houston, Texas, Locke currently resides in Los Angeles with her family.
