Anne Holt Books in Order

Anne Holt is a prolific Norwegian author, lawyer, and former politician. Born in Larvik, she spent her formative years in Lillestrøm and Tromsø before settling in Oslo in 1978. Holt graduated with a law degree from the University of Bergen in 1986, and went on to work for The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) and the Oslo Police Department. Her journalistic experience as a journalist and anchor woman for Dagsrevyen from 1990 to 1991 laid the groundwork for her future writing career. Holt started her own law practice in 1994 and briefly served as Minister of Justice in 1996-1997. Her debut novel, the crime novel Blind gudinne, released in 1993, introduced the popular lesbian police officer Hanne Wilhelmsen. Her subsequent novels, including Løvens gap and Uten ekko, co-authored with Berit Reiss-Andersen, solidified her position as a prominent crime novelist in Norway. Published in 25 countries, Holt's works have garnered international acclaim, cementing her status as one of the most successful crime novelists in Norway.
