Ann Swinfen is a multifaceted author with a distinguished career spanning various fields. She studied Classics and Mathematics at Oxford, where she met her husband, historian David Swinfen. As a devoted mother of five, she pursued higher education, earning an MSc in Mathematics and a BA and PhD in English Literature, while taking on diverse roles, including university lecturer, translator, journalist, and software designer. Additionally, she served on the Open University's governing council and managed the technical author division of an international company. In 1995, she founded Dundee Book Events, promoting literature to the public. Her novels, such as <i>The Anniversary</i>, <i>The Travellers</i>, <i>A Running Tide</i>, <i>The Testament of Mariam</i>, and <i>Flood</i>, have been published by Random House, translated into multiple languages, and showcase her unique blend of contemporary and historical perspectives.
