Angie Sage is a renowned children's author and illustrator, best known for the beloved Septimus Heap series, which comprises seven novels: Magyk, Flyte, Physik, Queste, Syren, Darke, and Fyre. Her notable works also include the Todhunter Moon series and the Magykal Papers, an engaging companion to the Septimus Heap world. Sage is the creator of the Araminta Spookie series, further solidifying her reputation as a masterful storyteller for young readers. Born in 1952, Angie Sage grew up surrounded by the world of publishing, her father being a publisher who encouraged her artistic expression. She initially studied medicine but later pursued her passion for art, attending Art School in Leicester to study Graphic Design and Illustration. Her career blossomed from illustrating children's books to writing captivating stories, including her debut novel, Septimus Heap: Magyk. Sage is a dedicated wife and mother to two daughters, Laurie and Lois.
