Angie Cruz Books in Order

Angie Cruz is a renowned Dominican-American author, born in 1972 in New York City's Washington Heights. She spent her summers traveling between the Dominican Republic and her birthplace until the age of sixteen. Cruz's early interests led her to study Visual Arts at La Guardia High School, and she later pursued Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. However, her true passion for literature and history emerged during her time as a full-time college student at SUNY Binghamton. In 1999, she graduated from the NYU MFA program, where her love for writing blossomed. Cruz co-founded WILL: Women In Literature & Letters in 1997, an organization that utilized literature to build community and drive social change. After publishing several shorter works in prominent periodicals, including Latina Magazine, Callaloo, and The New York Times, Cruz went on to win prestigious awards such as The New York Foundation of The Arts Fellowship, Barbara Deming Award, Yaddo, and The Camargo Fellowship. Her critically acclaimed novels showcase her unique voice and perspective, shedding light on the experiences of Dominican-American women.
