Sapkowski made his literary debut in 1986 with the publication of "The Witcher" (Wiedźmin) in Fantastyka, Poland's leading fantasy magazine, which garnered immense popularity. He has since created a vast and acclaimed series based on the world of The Witcher, comprising three collections of short stories and five novels. This cycle, along with his other works, has cemented his status as one of Poland's most renowned fantasy authors. Sapkowski's writing often explores complex moral themes, as seen in his iconic character Geralt, a mutant assassin with a unique code of ethics.
