Alice Taylor is a celebrated Irish author and editor, currently residing in the picturesque village of Innishannon in County Cork. With her eldest son now taking over the family's supermarket and post office, Taylor has the time to devote to her writing, a passion she has nurtured for many years. A seasoned writer and editor, Taylor's career spans various roles, including telephonist in Killarney and Bandon, and proprietor of the village's guesthouse, supermarket, and post office. She has edited and published the annual magazine Candlelight since 1984 and released an illustrated collection of her poetry in 1986. Taylor's breakout novel, To School Through the Fields, was published in 1988 and catapulted her to national attention, leading to numerous signing sessions, talks, and readings throughout Ireland.
