Alfred Lansing is a renowned American journalist and author, whose work has been featured in prominent publications such as Collier's magazine. He has also held the esteemed position of editor for Time, Inc. Books. A decorated war veteran, Lansing served in the US Navy from 1940 to 1946, earning the Purple Heart for his bravery during this time. He went on to pursue higher education, attending North Park College from 1946 to 1948 and Northwestern University from 1948 to 1950. Lansing's intellectual curiosity and thirst for adventure led him to become a member of the prestigious Scott Polar Research Institute in Cambridge, England, in 1957.
