Alex Gerlis is a seasoned journalist and novelist, known for his gripping stories that often draw from his extensive experience in international news. Born in 1955 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, he graduated from Hull University with a degree in Law and Politics in 1977. Gerlis' distinguished career spans over four decades, including time as a researcher on Panorama and various roles within the BBC News and Current Affairs department, where he worked on numerous high-profile programs and documentaries. He has also held senior positions, such as Head of Training at the BBC College of Journalism, and has covered major global events, including the Omagh bomb and the 9/11 attacks. His first novel was inspired by his experiences covering the 50th anniversary of D-Day. Gerlis currently resides in west London with his family.
