Aleksandar Hemon Books in Order

Aleksandar Hemon is a celebrated author, graduated from the University of Sarajevo with a degree in literature in 1990. He relocated to Chicago, Illinois in 1992, where he initially struggled to write in English, a language he spoke with limited proficiency. Undeterred, Hemon began writing in English in 1995, and his work soon gained recognition in prominent publications such as The New Yorker and Esquire. His notable works include the critically acclaimed novel The Lazarus Project, a finalist for the 2008 National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award. He has also penned three collections of short stories: The Question of Bruno, Nowhere Man, and Love and Obstacles. Hemon's writing has earned him prestigious accolades, including a 2003 Guggenheim Fellowship and a "genius grant" from the MacArthur Foundation. He continues to reside in Chicago.
