Alan Orloff Books in Order

Alan Orloff is a multifaceted writer with a unique background in engineering. Prior to his career as a novelist, he worked on nuclear submarines, supervised assembly workers in factories, facilitated technology transfer from the Star Wars program, and started his own recycling and waste reduction newsletter business. Now, he writes fiction that showcases his versatility. His debut mystery, DIAMONDS FOR THE DEAD, was a finalist for the Best First Novel Agatha Award. The Last Laff Mystery Series: KILLER ROUTINE and DEADLY CAMPAIGN, as well as e-book originals THE TASTE, FIRST TIME KILLER, and RIDE-ALONG, are among his notable works. His most recent novels, RUNNING FROM THE PAST and PRAY FOR THE INNOCENT, solidify his position as a masterful thriller writer. Alan's short fiction has been featured in numerous publications, including JEWISH NOIR, Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine, and THE BEST AMERICAN MYSTERY STORIES anthology, edited by Louise Penny. He teaches fiction-writing at The Writer’s Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and resides in Northern Virginia.
