Alan Gratz Books in Order

Alan Gratz is a Tennessee native, born and raised in the vibrant city that hosted the 1982 World's Fair. He honed his creative writing skills at the University of Tennessee, earning a College Scholars degree and a Master's in English education. Gratz's diverse career includes writing plays, magazine articles, and television episodes, as well as teaching, advertising, and lecturing abroad. Notably, he is the award-winning author of Samurai Shortstop, a 2007 ALA Top Ten Best Book for Young Adults, and Something Rotten, a young adult murder mystery inspired by Shakespeare's Hamlet. His works, which include Something Wicked and The Brooklyn Nine, have captivated readers with their unique blend of history, family, and adventure. When not writing, Alan resides in Western North Carolina with his family, where he enjoys reading, indulging in pizza, and cheering on his favorite baseball team.
